DCC command station is an electronic device that controls the functioning of all layout. Using command station each device, accessory or vehicle can be controlled separately or in groups. Wide choice of command stations is available on the market, but they are all pretty high priced and function limited. Open source information is available on DCC protocol, so anyone can build his own command station. During the time, some open source libraries and firmwares became available.

For the first try, I'll be using Arduino based command station using DCC++ project information. Later I'll make the dedicated command station board which will include all the needed functionality.
