Tillig flex point kits are much cheaper than ready points and can be adjusted as needed. There are metallic paints that can be used to color plastic parts. Also plastic pars can be replaced with metal rail profile cut to length and bent.

+  * Private railways, like [[iga_line|Iga Line]] has a random mix of ways to pin the rails to the sleepers/ties, e.g. plain spikes, spikes with wooden blocks, spikes with chairs, bolts with chairs, spikes with springs, multiple variations of rail chairs. And that's all along the single small priwate railway line. Noticed similar things on Geibi Line and somewhat on [[kansai_main_line|Kansai Main Line]]. Also mix of narrow and wide wooden and concrete sleepers/ties. Even on at different bridges sleeper/tie size varies per bridge. So if somewhat prototipical look is desired, the only way is to handlay the track. Handlaying the turnouts/points/switches is a must, since there are no available RTR items on the market, except Tillig EW3 with the TT-sized sleepers/ties.
+  * Researched H0 scale rail spikes availability. Micro Engineering and Proto87 are only available from US market with a substantial price and delivery fee (ca. $15/1000 + over $20 delivery). Micro Engineering looks like a painted staple and there are complaints on the forums about the spikes bend too easy when trying to insert them. Proto87 are precision routed and have excellent reviews. Size-wise the H0 scale spikes should be around 0.5 mm thick and 2-3 mm long. There are small staples available in the office supply shops, like 6/4 or #10, which are 4 mm long. Will try #10 staples available at local shop for 0.45€/1000 which will cut into halves, making total 2000 spikes. As with Micro Engineering spikes, the pre-made holes in the sleepers/ties should help to insert the spikes.
